Never one to stay in place for very long, Miley Cyrus is developing a new musical style that is likely to receive a lot of attention. Miley just released a song called “Inspired.” The new song continues Miley’s legacy for innovation. Miley’s new country style represents a kind of homecoming for this young artist, who is the daughter of country legend Billy Ray Cyrus. Miley debuted this song at the One Love Manchester benefit concert, which was a benefit for the victims of the Manchester terror attacks. This followup to “Malibu” represents a continuation of Miley’s newfound bent for mixing traditional and contemporary sounds. After her glittering, psychedelic “Dead Petz” album, Miley’s new musical direction is remarkably straightforward and direct.
This is partly caused by the fact that Miley is apparently no longer working with the Flaming Lips in the studio. Although some people did not like Miley’s work with the Flaming Lips, I think this veteran alternative rock band served as an excellent foil for Miley’s naive yet touching sentimentality. Miley’s last album spent a lot of time dwelling on the fate of Miley’s pets, several of whom have died in the past couple of years. I feel that Miley Cyrus has demonstrated excellent musical taste over the course of the last few years. Although her comportment and public persona may show a lack of decorum, there’s no denying that Cyrus is a talented artist. Though some have taken issue with this singer’s artistic choices, I feel Miley has quite a bit to offer.
Over the course of the next few years, it is likely that Cyrus will continue to make headlines. A number of mainstream music sites have taken interest in Miley’s new musical direction. If she is smart, Miley will ignore all naysayers and focus on pleasing her fans. By producing fun and original anthems for her generation, Cyrus has proven more resilient than most of the critics that have repeatedly sniped at her heels.
Shockingly, Frank Ocean is an artist who has recently returned to the stage. Without doubt, this is one of the most interesting R&B singers of the last two decades. Unusually, Ocean gave up performing live in 2014. A number of commentators wondered if Ocean would ever return to live performing. Fortunately, Ocean returned to the stage in Denmark in a triumphant concert. Ocean has announced a number of other tour dates that he will perform at various places throughout the world. For example, Ocean will perform at upcoming festivals in New York and Los Angeles.
Interestingly, Frank Ocean is one indie R&B artist who seems on the verge of breaking through into the R&B mainstream. I feel that this artist has a lot to offer the world. This is a great time for people who have always wished that indie would adopt more influences from African-American forms music genres. For decades, indie music truly lacked diversity. Finally, it is possible to see how the indie dichotomy can interact with African-American culture in all of its glory. Although a number of commercially successful artists have widely proclaimed their love for Frank Ocean, this artist still hasn’t received sufficient accolades. I certainly hope that more people will appreciate the genius of Frank Ocean. Simply put, Frank Ocean’s music has very few flaws. Without doubt, this artist is going to create a powerful musical legacy in the years to come.
Whenever one of my friends admits they have never heard Frank Ocean, I immediately start developing a plan to introduce that friend to the joys of this indie R&B master. Through his new concert in Denmark, Frank Ocean has opened up a new world of creativity. It should prove fascinating to see how Oceans’ new concert series will affect the world of popular culture. It is certainly possible that Ocean will achieve a remarkably new level of success. A variety of music journalists now eagerly cover Ocean’s upward trajectory.
Jane’s Addiction are hard at work preparing the release of a new concert film. Slated for release on August 4, 2017, the film is entitled “Ritual De Lo Habitual At 25.” This film features a full-length live rendition of the band’s classic 1990 album, “Ritual De Lo Habitual.” Recorded on May 30 in Irvine, California, this performance represents a band that has aged gracefully. The concert film comes two years after Jane’s Addiction went on the road to commemorate the 25th anniversary of their signature album. In an interview with a musical journalist, guitarist Dave Navarro noted that revisiting this album helped him remember the benefits of using an unorthodox musical approach.
I think it is refreshing to see artists like these continue to work hard for their fans. Jane’s Addictions have had enough success over the years that it seems the band could easily afford to rest on their laurels. Nevertheless, the band continues to tour tirelessly, refusing to alienate their audience through laziness. Furthermore, each new album the band produces shows professionalism and great attention to detail. Jane’s Addiction has already achieved legendary status and entered the annals of alternative rock. It seems clear that these musicians are poised to become elder statesmen of rock music.
In the current popular culture, I think that we have something you might call a cult of youth. It is far too common for people to reflexively favor things that are new, novel or youthful in nature. Fortunately, bands like Jane’s Addiction continue to demonstrate that you can rock out at any age. I hope this band continues to produce outstanding records for many long years to come. Of course, experience shows that we can lose our favorite musicians at unexpected times. This is why we should take the time to cherish those wonderful bands that add color and variety to our lives. I think that Dave Navarro and Jane’s Addiction have earned the loyalty of the public.
